Our neighborhood has always been a place of peace, pride, and natural beauty. As members of the Woods-Sugarberry community, we care deeply about preserving the quality of life, safety, and environment that makes this area special.
Recently, a proposal has surfaced to build a high-density, low-income apartment complex near our neighborhood boundaries. While we support inclusive housing initiatives, this particular development raises serious concerns about increased traffic, strain on infrastructure, safety, and the long-term impact on our natural environment.
We believe all voices in our community deserve to be heard—especially when it comes to developments that will directly affect our homes, families, and neighborhood values.
“We’re not against growth—we’re for protecting what makes our neighborhood worth growing into.”
🚨 Why We’re Taking Action:
Zoning and Character: The proposed development does not align with the existing zoning or the established character of our neighborhood.
Environmental Impact: This development would border protected green areas and disrupt local wildlife and wooded spaces that we all enjoy.
Traffic and Safety: Increased congestion on already narrow residential roads raises concerns for children, pedestrians, and overall neighborhood safety.
Infrastructure Stress: Local services, utilities, and schools are already operating near capacity—this would stretch them even further.

📢 How You Can Help:
We’ve created a petition to formally express our community’s opposition to this development. So far, we’ve gathered nearly 300 signatures—a huge step in showing decision-makers that this is an issue that matters to us. But we still need more voices to make an even bigger impact.
